Meet the 2026-2027 PTA Board
We’re excited to introduce the PTA Board for 2026-2027. These parents have stepped forward to help lead events, support teachers, and strengthen our school community.
This slate was approved by our members at the Spring Showcase general assembly.
They are all Panther parents fitting this in around a job and a family, and none of them had done it before they started.
Executive Committee
The four elected officers, plus the Parliamentarian the President appoints.
President · Lisa Gates
Runs the meetings, signs the contracts, and sits on every committee.
Co-President · open · could be you
This seat is open. It shares the President’s job, so the work is split between two people.
Treasurer · Sarah Peter
Looks after the money. Pays every bill by check, always with two signatures, and reconciles the account each month.
Secretary · Anna Jiang
Takes the minutes, keeps the bylaws and the membership roll, and files the new officers with Georgia PTA after the election.
Parliamentarian · Matt Peter
Appointed by the President instead of elected. Answers “are we allowed to do that?” and keeps the website running.
What does each committee do?
Eight committees do the work of the PTA. For each one: what it runs, when it’s busy, and who’s on it this year.
Dates for everything below are on the PTA and School Events Calendar, which you can subscribe to from your phone.
Academic Enrichment
Pays for the things the school budget doesn’t cover. Teacher mini-grants, about $9,000 a year, plus the school play, STEM Lab supplies, STEAM Day, House Shirts and Exceptional Children’s Week.
Teacher Services
Feeds and thanks the teachers. Luncheons and breakfasts through the year, about $12,000 of them, plus Teacher Appreciation Week.
Family Events
Runs the family parties. The Back to School Bash, Taste of New Prospect, Movie Night and the end-of-year Spring Carnival. Food trucks, a DJ, and something inflatable.
Community & Well Being
Looks out for how families and students are doing. Welcoming new families, Hands on New Prospect, Red Ribbon Week, Field Day, and the counseling programs the school asks us to fund.
Fundraising
Raises nearly all of the money. Fundraising events, sponsorships, spirit nights, the Holiday Shop, school supply kits and the Skip the Line Raffle.
Membership
Signs everybody up. Family and faculty memberships, corporate matching gifts, and keeping the member list straight all year.
Business Alliances
Brings in our local business sponsors. Business partner sponsorships, the spirit wear store, and the donations and gift cards behind a lot of what you see at events.
Communications
Gets the word out. The monthly newsletter, the flyers in Thursday folders, social media, and this website and its calendar.
Thinking about joining us?
The Co-President seat is open right now, and committee spots open up every spring.
You do not need PTA experience, and you do not need to commit to a whole year. Helping at one event is a real help, and it is how most of the people above started. You will never be asked to sell anything door to door.
Tell us which of these sounded interesting and we will put you in touch with the right person. Contact Us!
Thank you for being part of the Panther community and for supporting the work of our PTA.
